Responsible business practices are a central part of our company. Through continuous process optimisation, we strive to use resources efficiently and to continually improve our packaging solutions.
Resource-efficient packaging solutions
The continuous development of our packaging is a key part of our corporate strategy. Our aim is to develop packaging solutions that meet our high standards for product protection and quality, whilst taking into account material usage and recyclability within the limits of what is technically feasible.
Developing suitable cheese packaging requires bespoke solutions. Every change is technically challenging and depends on various factors, including product safety, material availability, legal requirements and compatibility with existing packaging machinery. For many years, we have been working continuously to refine our packaging step by step.
To ensure that our cheese specialities reach the consumer safely, all packaging must comply with the applicable legal requirements – regardless of the material used. Our packaging solutions are designed to reliably protect the cheese, optimise material usage within the constraints of product requirements, support recycling-friendly packaging concepts and enable proper disposal.
In order to continuously improve our packaging and optimise the use of resources within the limits of what is technically feasible, we pursue three key strategies:
Reduction
Avoiding packaging or packaging components wherever possible
Minimising the use of materials, e.g. by using thinner films
Substitution
Evaluating and using materials with improved recyclability or alternative material solutions instead of conventional plastic structures
Recyclability
Developing packaging solutions with a focus on material structures that are as homogeneous as possible
Facilitating separation and recycling through appropriate packaging design
Our packaging solutions are regularly reviewed and further optimised – taking into account new regulatory requirements and technical developments. We take a holistic approach to sustainability, which also encompasses disposal. After all, even the best packaging is only as good as its proper disposal!
Energy efficiency & resource conservation
Our energy supply is almost self-sufficient and is largely fed from renewable sources:
Photovoltaics
A powerful 750 kWp PV system supplies more electricity than we need for our production and office space – including power for our electric company vehicles
Geothermal energy
17 probes at a depth of 200 metres enable efficient use of geothermal energy
Heat recovery
State-of-the-art technology ensures that no energy goes unused
Our commitment
In everything we do, we think in terms of cycles. For us, sustainability means: products of the highest quality – manufactured in harmony with the environment and society. In 2025, we introduced a certified energy and environmental management system in accordance with ISO 50001 and ISO 14001. The implementation of these international standards underlines our clear commitment to responsible and resource-efficient business practices. The effectiveness of our measures is regularly monitored by independent auditors – this ensures that our contribution to environmental and climate protection is transparent, traceable and continuously improved.
